The best part of Christmas

I asked Naomi what the best part of Christmas was. She replied that getting her Ariel doll was her favorite gift! It was worth the effort and stress of trying to have it arrive on time after all! In fact I think it was an added bonus to get a letter from Santa. Naomi has not let Ariel out of her sight! Other favorites are the cheerleader doll, the art supplies and her Charlie and Lola books. Paige is really loving the baby doll that Tia gave her and spends most of her time at home pushing the doll in her new stroller. She also loves the vet hospital set from the Murphy's and her new spot book. Paige is really starting to enjoy books, and I find I am reading to her and Naomi constantly.

I look forward to the New Year and lots more exciting events! I cannot believe how fast the girls are growing up!

Christmas 2007

We had a lovely Christmas day, Naomi and I made Christmas sugar cookies for Santa, and left him some, plus plenty of carrots for Rudolph and the other reindeer's. Noami decided to peel and slice each of the carrots, to make it easier for the Reindeer to eat, accommodating!
On Christmas morning Naomi woke up first at about 7.30am, not too early. I had her wait for Paige to wake up, but Paige needed a little help, so we opened her bedroom door and she was awake in a flash. Santa's gifts were a big hit, Naomi didn't have her Ariel doll yet, but the letter from Santa explaining it was not finished helped. She loved the cheerleader doll, Jasmine, and her harmonica. She did point out that it wasn't shiny. Paige saw her stroller and was in love. She played with it all morning, and loved the doll that claps and laughs from Tia! They had way too many toys, but enjoyed the whole day.
The Murphy's came over for Christmas dinner, and we all ate too much and played scrabble. The kids played and got along well! A good Christmas!

Three lips of tulips

Last night the Murphy's joined the danners for a walk to look at our neighborhood lights. Adam and Naomi rode their bikes and were tearing off. We walked over the Bagby School to check out the Kindergarten class in preparation for September (!!) on the wall was a collage of tile that made a picture. Naomi said "look mommy, three lips" and pointed to some flowers. I said, "no they are called Tulips.' to which she replied no look b/c they have 3 petals! it was cute!

Christmas is around the corner!

It has been a tough week or so with stomach flu, that got everyone except Barry. Thankfully it happened the week before Christmas and we are mostly better. The girls are ready for Christmas. naomi is DYING to open presents. She wrote a letter to Santa:

Dear Santa,
Please bring me an Ariel singing doll, sparkly glue, a harmonica, Snow White doll, feetsie pajamas and things to do art. Paige would like anything for Babies, cars and pajamas. Thanks you, I love you!

Naomi and Paige

The Ariel singing doll has been a tough one, Naomi saw it in a grocery store in October and was upset that i wouldn't buy it. i told her she had to wait until Christmas, not thinking she would remember! i have had the hardest time finding one, i finally ordered one on Amazon and it hopefully will arrive 12/22..fingers crossed.

Paige is really enjoying playing with Baby dolls and so she will be easy to please, it is hard b/c she has all Naomi's hand me downs.

Christmas is coming!

This weekend we completed out Christmas decorations. Last weekend Barry put the lights up outside, and the swirly Christmas trees. There are a lot of lights!!! This weekend we went to Castle Rock farm and picked out a tree. It was so fun. We went with the Murphy's and the kids had a lot of fun running in between the trees trying to find the perfect tree. We took a bunch of pictures, and tried to get that perfect shot for our Christmas card, not sure I got it. After sawing down our tree we enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks, then home to decorate. Our tree looks beautiful and Naomi had a lot of fun finding decorations from years before that she had made! She is proud to have found "the perfect tree" and congratulates herself for picking such a good one. Pictures to follow!

This is one of the only pictures I have of all of us, taken in July 2007 at Paige's 1st birthday party!

Wow I have figured out how to upload pictures to my blog!

Paige at 1 year old! So happy with just the one tooth!
